New Beginnings Assembly Hall in West Frankfort, Illinois
All-American Pro Wrestling returned
to the New Beginnings Assembly Hall in West Frankfort Saturday for a
special live event. Rumors have been circulating that AAPW may not be
returning to Franklin County for a while, so hopefully the fans in attendance
will remember, remember the fifth of November.
The crowd was small, but one couldn't tell it from the atmosphere of the arena. From the opening bell of the first contest until the ending of the main event, the fans made themselves heard, cheering on their favorites and heckling the others.
Bull Bronson vs. Jay Spade
AAPW's resident underdog once again found himself paired against a mismatched opponent, as the cruiserweight Spade squared off with the superheavyweight Bronson in the night's first match.
Spade found himself at a disadvantage from the get-go, as Bronson's power was just too much for the smaller competitor to handle. A mistimed move on Bronson's part - a top turnbuckle leg drop - allowed Spade to capitalize and gain some momentum of his own.
He continued to use his speed and agility to his advantage, but before long, Spade once again found himself at Bronson's mercy. Bronson unleashed a brutal assault on Spade, splashing him in the corner and manhandling him outside the ring, including a vicious run into the edge of the ring.
In the end, Spade simply found himself overpowered and unable to keep up, allowing Bronson to score an easy pinfall.

Greg Anthony vs. Justice
The second match of the night saw "Golden Boy" Anthony take on AAPW newcomer Justice. Anthony isn't used to be being oversized in a match, but Justice had a few inches height advantage, and used it to taunt his opponent through the early goings of the match.
The two competitors went toe-to-toe for the duration of the bout, but in almost every exchange, Justice ended up on top. This trend blatantly was wearing Anthony thin, as he bailed from the ring and grabbed a chair, despite the protests of the referee.
Anthony laid justice out with the chair, getting himself disqualified and giving Justice the win. But Justice wasn't done yet. While Anthony celebrated, Justice recovered and hit his signature moves on a prone Anthony, leaving the fans happy to see the "Golden Boy" get his just desserts.

AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund McGuire vs. Mike Masters
Billed as a special attraction match for the fans in attendance, McGuire proved himself a fighting champion by facing Masters. By all accounts, Masters, who has been on a bit of a losing streak as of late, didn't necessarily deserve a title shot, but "Livewire" has committed himself to facing any and all challengers.
The champion was obviously having fun with his challenger in the early stages of the match. As the cocky Masters would hit a move, McGuire would respond by hitting the exact same move. McGuire's obviously received more support from the fans, sending Masters into a state of frustration.
Before long, the one-upsmanship ended and the two men focused on bringing down their opponent for good. Both men had their moments in control of the match, and at several points, it seemed as if Masters' misfortune may be coming to an end. He had the champ on the edge of defeat on multiple occasions.
In the end, Masters joined a growing list of men who have fallen victim to Livewire's signature superkick and added another loss to his record.
Result: Edmund McGuire d. Mike Masters to retain the AAPW Heavyweight Championship
Carnage vs. Farmer Billy Hills
These two big men brought the fans back from intermission and held nothing back as they threw everything but the kitchen sink at one another.
The men exchanged power moves back and forth, but neither man could seem to keep his opponent down. Hills eventually found a strong sense of momentum and had Carnage on the mat, but the referee called a two count, sending the fans into a frenzy.
Hills responded by hitting the same move again, this time able to keep Carnage down for three and scoring a clean and uncharacteristic pinfall on AAPW's resident monster.
Result: Billy Hills d. Carnage
Ax Allwardt d. Seth Knight
Allwardt was accompanied to the ring by his henchman and manager Gaylord Stevens, while Knight had champion McGuire in his corner. Allwardt and Stevens tried protesting McGuire's presence, demanding to see his manager's license. Ultimately, the referee allowed the champ to stay and the match got underway.
Knight found himself outsized by Allwardt, but the young star managed to hold his own. Before too long, though, the numbers game came into play, as Stevens would launch his own attacks on Knight behind the referee's back. When McGuire would try to bring the issues to the ref's attention, he'd only add fuel to the fire, as the ref would focus instead on getting McGuire to calm down.
McGuire began chasing Stevens around the outside, fending off Allwardt's lackey while Knight tried to take care of business in the ring. Both men exchanged control, but the momentum of the match really began shifting when the referee took an unexpected hit in the corner.
With the referee out, Knight missed out on several pinfall opportunities. Stevens tried to interfere in the match, but McGuire counteracted his presence. Bronson hit the ring from the back to attack McGuire, but Spade followed to make the save.
The insanity continued as Anthony emerged, followed by Justice. A brawl erupted in the ring, and in the end, McGuire laid out Stevens with a superkick. As the ref came to, all the stars except Allwardt and Knight left the ring. The "Old School Warrior" set Knight up for his signature piledriver, but Knight reversed it and rolled Allwardt up for a three count of his own to earn the victory.

After the match, McGuire, Spade and Justice raised Knight's hand in victory before the quartet greeted the crowd, signing autographs and taking photos with fans.
AAPW returns to the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse on Sunday, Nov. 13, for Fan Fest, featuring matches voted on the fans. Doors open at 1 p.m. with bell time scheduled for 2.
