Herrin Middle School - Herrin, Illinois

AAPW's 4th annual benefit for the American Cancer Society started out with a bang as newcomer, G.T. Vega, took on AAPW mainstay, "Playboy" Paul Rose in a very competitive opening match. The match had the crowd screaming from start to finish. Vega was successful in his AAPW debut defeating Rose with a moonsault.

The 2nd bout of the night featured tag team action as Ax Allwardt teamed with the returning "Homicidal" Steven Davis to take on the team of Joey O'Riley and K.C. Jackson. Although extremely outsized, O'Riley and Jackson attempted to use their speed and quickness to keep the match competitive. The experienced veterans, Allwardt and Davis, were able to cut the young and inexperienced O'Riley off from his tag partner and punished him through much of the match. O'Riley suffered defeat from a piledriver.

Rookie Heath Hatton once again took on Carnage. This match appeared to be a replay of the last 2 matches these two have had with Carnage dominating the rookie. Hatton showed a brief spurt of offense midway through the bout sending Carnage over the top rope to the floor. Carnage again took control and continued to punish Hatton. Carnage hit his patented neckbreaker and appeared to have the victory. However, the masked competitor gloated and taunted the fans instead of going for the pinfall immediately. As Carnage went for a "cocky" pin, Hatton applied a crucifix maneuver and pinned his opponent! Hatton got his first win in AAPW!

Edmund "Livewire" McGuire faced off against "Bad Boy" Chris Thomas in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. These two brutally beat each other all over the gymnasium. Neither man seemed to get the upper hand through most of the match. As they fought toward the locker room tunnel, McGuire hiptossed Thomas into the wall then followed up with a superkick. McGuire went into the tunnel after Thomas and a loud "BANG" was heard. The referee made his way through the crowd and counted a pinfall. Chris Thomas had won the match!!! Shortly thereafter, "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich walked from the tunnel holding a steel chair! Rich then addressed the crowd letting them know that not only was his suspension lifted, but he would now be in the MAIN EVENT, making it a triple threat match for the AAPW title!

Mike Sydal returned to AAPW to take on another newcomer, Sir Bradley Charles. Matching each other move for move, these two put on a technical clinic. It was not too long before Sydal returned to his high flying abilities. Sydal hit a double knee off the top rope for the win.

Two former WWE superstars in Paul Burchill and Simon Dean would put on a very entertaining match for the fans. What started out as a bit "comical" turned into a hard-hitting match up. After several unsuccessful pinfall attempts, Dean resorted to his Krytonite Krunch to get the win.

In the main event, it appeared Jeremy Wyatt and Shane Rich would put their differences aside to make sure Mississippi Madman would not leave this night with the AAPW title. This turned out to be a very smart strategy by the two smaller opponents as Madman spent much of the match on the gym floor from the onslaught of Wyatt and Rich. But then, they turned on each other. With extremely stiff shots, Wyatt and Rich laid into each other. Then, a contest of one upsmanship ensued as each showed why they are considered two of the best in the Midwest. This went on much of the match as each time the Champion attempted to enter the ring, Wyatt and Rich would make sure he stayed out. But the Champion would not stay down for long. Madman entered back into the match and overpowered both opponents with an impressive display. Madman had Rich in his grasp for the 5th floor slam but Rich went for the Champions eyes. Meanwhile, Wyatt grabbed the AAPW title and hit Madman in the back of the head. Wyatt covered the champion for the pin. Rich kicked Wyatt square in the face and covered Madman for the win and is once again AAPW Champion.
