Nashville Community Center - Nashville, Illinois

Picture
The night was filled with fun, excitement, and controversy from beginning to end.

Mark Sterling entered the ring and introduced yet another NEW tag team partner, Eric Fantabulous. Sterling complained that he was screwed out of the AAPW tag team titles. He went on to blame Rebelucha for the loss and demanded a rematch.

Promoter, Sean Chambers, was called to ringside to handle the situation. Chambers made the following statement:

"Mark, you won the AAPW tag team titles with Darrien Sanders as your partner. Unfortunately, Darrien retired from wrestling. I allowed you to find a suitable replacement of your choosing. You then teamed with #1 Brett Young and successfully defended the belts. Last week, you show up and tell me that Brett had a family emergency and could not make it, so I allowed you to find ANOTHER partner to defend the belts. You chose Rebelucha and the two of you, as a team, lost. Therefore, if you want a rematch for the belts, I will grant the team of Brett Young and Mark Sterling a match. But if you want to team with Eric, then the two of you have to start from square one and prove yourselves worthy. Starting tonight."

Chambers then went to the back and out came the team of Mike Sydal and REBELUCHA!

Although outsized in the bout, the team of Sydal and Rebelucha worked extremely well together. They pulled out a victory when Rebelucha pinned Sterling with a fisherman buster suplex.

The 2nd bout of the night featured Tony Stetson, with his manager, Brooklyn Bobby, against the somewhat unorthodox and comical luchadore, El Magnifico. El Magnifico began with his usual nonsense and silliness. Stetson shut him down quickly. As Magnifico got his second wind, Brooklyn Bobby tossed the pinata brought to the ring by Magnifico to Stetson. Stetson blantantly busted it over El Magnifico's head and was disqualified.

The 3rd match of the night was a rematch from Mt. Vernon, IL. between "The Golden Boy" Greg Anthony and "Thee" Brandon Espinosa. This match was every bit as exciting as their first encounter in AAPW. However, Espinosa gained the upper hand late in the match. It appeared that Anthony was attempting to retrieve a foriegn object. Espy rolled him up in a schoolboy and got the pin.

Next was Mike Masters V. Carnage. Carnage began the match not only overpowering Masters but actually outwrestling him move for move! Masters showed his cunning when Carnage whipped him to the turnbuckle and charged at him head first. Masters quicky moved and threw Carnage shoulder first into the ringpost and out to the floor. Masters was then like a wild animal that smelled blood as he relentlessly beat and tortured Carnage the rest of the match. Masters brash arrogance got the best of him as while he taunted and tormented the masked wrestler, out of nowhere, Carnage hit Masters with a neckbreaker for the win.

"Homicidal" Steven Davis was up next to face a wrestler undefeated in AAPW, Curly. This was a back and forth battle between the two. Curly completed a sunset flip from the ring apron. Davis held onto the rope but was caught by the referee. Curly had Davis' shoulders to the mat but Davis was able to counter and roll up Curly with a handful of trunks and get the pinfall.

All American Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship Match
The new AAPW Tag Team Champions, The Money Makin' Jam Boys (K.C. Jackson and Mississippi Madman) were in the house and wanted to defend the belts. They were originally scheduled to face The Lonrs. However, because of earlier events, they did not have suitable opponents. The promoter sent out a new team of 2 AAPW veterans whom he felt capable of providing a good match up for the champs in Ax Stevens and "Thunderbolt" Brandon Walker. At first, it appeared as a very lopsided mismatch. Stevens and Walker could not seem to get any offense going against the champions. Finally, the two wiley veterans showed their experience and was able to isolate Jackson from his corner. The challengers were unmerciful to Jackson. Jackson was able to sum up a last ditch effort and hit both Stevens and Walker with a double clothesline which gave him time to tag in his partner, Mississippi Madman. Madman entered the ring and began to CLEAN HOUSE! He picked up Stevens and delivered a thunderous chokeslam. He then tagged Jackson who came off the top turnbuckle and hit Stevens with a flying dropkick and covered him. Madman had not left the ring and the ref was attempting to get him to his corner. At this time, Walker came into the ring and hit Jackson, then pulled Stevens on top. The ref counted Jackson down for the 3 count.

At the end of the match, controversy ensued as Madman, several fans, and even ring announcer George "The Animal" 3rd claimed Walker used a pair of brass knuckles. The referee searched Walker but no brass knuckles were found. Stevens and Walker were declared the new AAPW tag team champions in a STUNNING upset! At the time of this post, The Money Makin' Jam Boys are pleading their case for a rematch.

All American Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Match
The main event of the evening pitted Shawn Shultz challenging AAPW Champion, "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich for the title. Although Shultz is far more experienced, Rich made a very good showing early in the bout matching Shultz hold for hold. Neither contestant seemed to have an advantage in the match as it was back and forth throughout. After several attempts, the champ was able to pin Shultz shoulders to the mat for the win. Shultz protested. He had grabbed the bottom rope at the 3 count. The referee did not see it and unfortunately for Shultz, those that did see it determined it was too close to call. Shultz then demanded a rematch in Mt. Vernon, IL. on Saturday May 9th at Powerhouse Athletics with the following stipulation, there are to be TWO referees. One inside the ring and a 2nd outside in order to make sure the match is ruled fair. Rich accepted the challenge.
