"Collision" returned to the air Saturday, just one week away from Main Event, the biggest event in company history.

The show joined a match in progress between "Golden Boy" Greg Anthony and "Farmer" Billy Hills.

"Golden Boy" Greg Anthony vs. "Farmer" Billy Hills

These two big men started the match vying for advantage, but neither man seemed able to grab control. As "Farmer" offered a test of strength, Anthony instead slapped his opponent and used that to capitalize and take Hills down.

After spending much of the match on the receiving end, Hills recovered and managed to get in some offense of his own. He headed up top for a double axe-handle, but missed, allowing Anthony to regain control and score the pinfall victory.

On his way out of the arena, "Golden Boy" taunted his former partner "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich, who was taken out of action by a motorcycle accident.

Commentators Chris Hagstrom and Kevin Hunsperger reminded viewers of a stipulation preventing AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund "Livewire" McGuire and No. 1 contender "Old School Warrior" Ax Allwardt from touching each other before their title match at Main Event on Jan. 14.

As the duo discussed the issue, Mike Masters emerged from the back, making his way to the commentary table, where he confronted Hunsperger. Masters brought up an incident from late March, when Hunsperger hit Masters with a chair during an appearance on "WSIL in the Morning," claiming that as the cause of his losing streak through the past year.

As Masters ran down Hunsperger, Jay Spade came out from the back, defending Hunsperger. Masters laid out a challenge to Spade. They'll compete in a match; if Spade wins, Masters will leave Hunsperger alone, but if Masters wins, he gets a match with Hunsperger at Main Event. Hunsperger and Spade accepted the challenge.

Masters jumped Spade before the bell and continued taunting Hunsperger and the fans on the outside. Spade responded by launching himself over the top rope onto Masters, taking wind out of his opponent. Lightning wouldn't strike twice, however, as Masters reversed another top-rope move from Spade into a kick to the chest.

Masters tried ramming Spade into the ring post, but Spade reversed, sending Masters into the metal instead. The action finally returned to the ring, where Masters assaulted Spade with strong kicks and strikes. Masters continued to wear down his opponent, ultimately hitting a big suplex.

Spade found a second wind, and managed to land a few uppercuts and others moves. Before long, though, he fell right back into Masters' trap. Masters took Spade down for a leg drop, but he got a little cocky with his pin, allowing Spade to kick out. Spade tried to land a hurricarana, but Masters stopped him.

The match continued in much the same way, and Masters tried to use some tricky maneuvers, such as holding Spade's tights, but he just couldn't find the win. Spade finally managed to get ahead, landing a hurricarana and another big dive from the outside.

As Spade attempted a sunset flip on Masters, the veteran star grabbed the ropes, giving him leverage to hold Spade's shoulders to the mat. Masters picked up the victory and earned his match against Kevin Hunsperger.

"Old School Warrior" Ax Allwardt vs. Joey O'Riley

This match marked the "Collision" debut of O'Riley, a long-time AAPW competitor and tag team partner of Jay Spade. On the debut episode, Spade fell victim to three piledrivers from Allwardt, so O'Riley was looking to avoid the same fate.

O'Riley started the match off with an arm drag, gaining a surprise early advantage. Allwardt would respond with a series of big powerful drops and slams, using his size to his advantage.

O'Riley recognized his size disadvantage and used his speed and agility to respond. A missed flip on the outside, however, put him at a disadvantage and allowed Allwardt to continue his onslaught.

Allwardt executed a suplex, holding O'Riley upside down for an extended period of time, sending the blood to his brain. Not even that could keep O'Riley down, though, as he got back on track and landed some of his signature high-flying moves.

A misexecuted kick from the top rope, however, gave Allwardt the advantage again, allowing "The Old School Warrior" to hit a piledriver on O'Riley for the win.

After the match, McGuire emerged from the back to confront Allwardt and his manager Gaylord Stevens. McGuire and Allwardt were both aware of the stipulation that if they touched each other, McGuire would lose his title and Allwardt would be stripped of the number-one contendership.

As McGuire and Allwardt went nose-to-nose, McGuire hit a superkick on Stevens out of nowhere. As Gaylord got up, McGuire hit him again with another superkick. Allwardt grabbed a chair, but Hagstrom tried to stop him from bringing it into the ring.

The champ grabbed Stevens' signature umbrella and proceeded to beat Stevens with his own weapon before hitting a third superkick. The tensions between McGuire and Allwardt have hit a fever pitch leading into next week's Main Event.

Heath Hatton vs. Christian Rose

Hatton was accompanied to the ring by his partner and co-holder of the AAPW Tag Team Championships Curly.

Rose starts with an early takedown on Hatton and taunts the crowd. Hatton responds by doing the exact same, except with the fans clearly behind him. The men then tied up in a test of strength with Rose using a cheap tactic to come out on top.

The two were obviously evened matched, as neither man could gain an advantage for much of the match's early goings. Rose ultimately used some unique offense to attempt a submission victory on Hatton, who managed to reach the ropes and break the hold.

Hatton broke free and sent Rose running to the outside to avoid a signature Hatton dropkick. Rose came back in to attempt more submission moves on Hatton, but again, neither could really maintain a serious advantage.

Rose wound up being the first to gain somewhat of a sense of control, as he unleashed his patented high-impact moves on the young Hatton. Before long, though, Hatton had the match in his hands, and the two continued to exchange even-handed blows and moves.

Rose went for a corkscrew drop from the top rope, but at least partially missed his target, allowing Hatton to hit a series of clotheslines and a neckbreaker. But the see-saw battle would continue, as the battle spilled to the outside.

As Curly checked on his tag team partner, "Playboy" Paul Rose emerged and attacked Curly and Hatton, causing the referee to call for a double disqualification. The call seemed to confuse many, as Hatton and Curly seemingly should not have been disqualified. The two Roses - no relation - continued to assault the tag champs before Christian Rose grabbed the tag titles and hoisted them in the air with "Playboy."

Result: Heath Hatton and Christian Rose wrestled to a double disqualification

AAPW "Collision" returns Saturday, Jan. 14, at noon on WSIL-TV 3, mere hours before Main Event, which begins at 6:45 p.m. at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse in Marion, Ill.
