Just hours before All American Pro Wrestling presents Main Event, the biggest show in company history, flagship television program "Collision" returned to the airwaves.

The show opened with AAPW Executive Producer Chris Hagstrom and AAPW Tag Team Champion Heath Hatton announcing some breaking news. Hatton's partner Curly has been fired from AAPW. Hatton and Curly were scheduled to defend the belts on this episode, but while the young star thought about handing over his title, he decided instead to go it alone, defending both belts on his own. He's had offers from new partners, but he doesn't want to let the fans down.

Bull Bronson vs. Jay Spade

Spade has found himself in this position many times since "Collision debuted." He's the David against any number of behemoth Goliaths in the AAPW locker room. But every time, he goes out and fights with heart and the support of the fans.

The match began with Bronson shoving Spade around, showing his brute strength. Spade tried to use his speed to his advantage, but his efforts fell short, as Bronson's power proved too much in the early goings of the bout.

Spade finally managed to reverse a slam into a hurricarana, but his momentum would be cut short by a big Bronson clothesline. A bodyslam and a massive leg drop followed, taking even more life out of Spade.

Bronson's weak point seemed to be a lack of using his mass in pinfalls, trying more confident pin attempts and coming up short each time. He tried to head to the second turnbuckle to hit a big splash, but Spade moved out of the way, gaining another burst of momentum in the process.

Spade nailed a big dropkick from the top rope, sending Bronson to the outside. Attempting to follow up with a dive, Spade was caught by Bronson and slammed into the ring post.

Bringing the action back into the ring, Bronson hit his signature powerslam and finally earned a three count, as the crowd seemed none too pleased.

Result: Bull Bronson d. Jay Spade

Backstage, Bob Fester caught up with "Playboy" Paul Rose, who was preparing for a tag team title shot later in the evening. Rose showed Fester his ongoing exercise routine he's utilized in preparation for the big match.

Christian Rose, Playboy's partner, showed up and said he needed to talk to him. While Playboy has been working hard on getting in shape, Christian needs a partner who can win. So he asked Playboy to be a team player, step aside and allow the debuting Matt Cage to take his place in the title match.

Back in the ring, Hagstrom announced that "The Masterpiece" Mike Masters had demanded time to address the situation between himself and play-by-play announcer Kevin Hunsperger, which will culminate in a match at tonight's Main Event.

Masters said his losing streak is over; just ask Jay Spade. Masters said that's he not a bully, and the if Hunsperger wants to be in a man's sport, he needs to be a man. Hunsperger's time is near an end, Masters said. Hagstrom questioned how much longer the veteran Masters will be able to go in the ring, but Masters ensured the fans - albeit with a lack of confidence - that he can continue to do what he does best.

Masters left the ring, getting in Hunsperger's face yelling at him at the commentary table. Masters had to be escorted out of the arena by security, as Hunsperger watched on, almost speechless.

Coming back from a commercial break, "3G" Eric Wayne had some words for "Boom Boom" Colt Cabana. While he's a fan of Cabana, when they step into the ring at Main Event, it's Wayne's chance to make a name for himself against one of the best in the world. Come tonight's show, Wayne is prepared to put Cabana's shenanigans to rest.

AAPW Tag Team Championship Match
Matt Cage and Christian Rose vs. Heath Hatton (c)

As if facing Christian Rose and Cage wouldn't be enough for Hatton, flying solo, the duo were accompanied to the ring by Playboy, playing the role of manager after being coerced out of the match.

Hatton and Rose started off, and the early goings of the bout saw them exchanging moves, feeling out their opponents. A dropkick from Hatton sent Rose to the outside, where he tried to regroup with Playboy and Cage.

When Rose returned to the ring, he gained control , working Hatton into a series of submission predicaments. As he tried to bring Hatton into the corner, Rose lost control, and Hatton took command of the match once again.

Playboy attempted to trip up Hatton, but instead tripped Rose, his own ally. Rose, obviously frustrated, literally kicked Playboy to the back. The break allowed Hatton time to catch his breath in the ring.

Rose tagged Cage in for the first time, but Hatton maintained his control. Cage and Rose used some double team maneuvers to take the match back into their hands. They began using quick tags to stay fresh and keep Hatton down.

Cage and Rose continued to bring the abuse to Hatton, but they couldn't keep the young champ down, as Hatton's resiliency kicked in. Rose began taunting Hatton, mocking his lack of a partner to reach out to for a tag.

The same scenario continued to play out, as the challengers utilized double team moves and hard strikes to attack Hatton. Eventually, though, Hatton used the challengers' own momentum against them to gain some control.

As the fight spilled outside, Hatton sent Rose right into the steel steps, almost scoring a schoolboy pin on Cage in the near future. Hatton's fortune continued, as the playing field was leveled temporarily.

Rose returned to the bout, though, and the referee took a shot that knocked him out accidentally. Hatton had both Rose and Cage down, but he couldn't capitalize. A big crossbody gave him what should have been a three count on Rose, but the referee was still out cold.

At that point, "Golden Boy" Greg Anthony - Hatton's nemesis - entered the ring and hit the champ with a pair of brass knuckles "Collision" fans have seen before. That shot allowed Rose to crawl over and make a pinfall on Hatton as the ref regained consciousness.

And with that, new tag team champions were crowned.

Result: Matt Cage and Christian Rose d. Heath Hatton to win the AAPW Tag Team Championships

Backstage, Bob Fester caught up with Anthony to find out his motives. "Golden Boy" said he offered to become Hatton's partner after Curly was fired, but Hatton told him a definitive no. Anthony promised to find Hatton at tonight's Main Event, where the two are scheduled to meet in a grudge match.

Hagstrom and Hunsperger ran down the card for tonight's Main Event, highlighting each of the night's matches. But it would be the closing moments of the show that would send shockwaves through AAPW.

As the screen went fuzzy, it cut to footage of Hagstrom doing promotional videos for Main Event, as someone ran in to alert him to a problem. As he headed outside, he found AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund "Livewire" McGuire on the ground, unconscious.

Bystanders said they saw two guys in an El Camino take off down the entrance of the Warehouse. Speculation has run rampant that this was the work of "Old School Warrior" Ax Allwardt and his henchman Gaylord Stevens, but with no firm witnesses, no one really knows for sure.

AAPW Main Event begins at 6:45 p.m. tonight at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse in Marion, Ill. "Collision" returns at noon Saturday, Jan. 21, on WSIL-TV 3. Past episodes can be viewed at www.vimeopro.com/aapw/collision.
