Results from AAPW Collision Season 2 Episode 4

Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse - Marion, Illinois

This episode of "Collision" will surely go down in the history books as one of the most controversial of all time. It was also one of the most anticipated, not only because of the match lineup but because this was the first look the public at large had at the incident involving Mike Masters and a fan. But before that footage could be aired, there were several matches to play out first.

Chocolate Thunder vs. Bull Bronson

Making his "Collision" debut, Chocolate Thunder became the latest man to accept the challenge of the undefeated Bull Bronson. Thunder's size and power would prove to match up with Bronson, giving the big man his toughest challenge to date.

Thunder didn't shy away from Bronson, starting the match be shoving him. The two men lock up in a test of strength, and a big boot to the stomach gives Bronson the advantage. Bronson continued to clobber Thunder, but neither man left his feet.

The entered a strike exchange, with Thunder coming out on top. But still, neither man fell down. As Thunder charged Bronson in the corner, Bronson lifted his foot for a kick to the face that finally knocked Thunder to the mat.

Bronson continued to dominate Thunder, landing several punches and a big slam. The two men spilled to the outside, where Bronson launched Thunder into the guardrails. With Bronson distracted with security, Thunder made a comeback, knocking Bronson into the turnbuckle and the top of the rails.

They returned to the ring, where Bronson was waiting for Thunder. They continued exchanging strikes, and a neckbreaker from Thunder took Bronson to the mat. They would continue going at it, with Bronson regaining him momentum with a massive clothesline and a near fall.

Thunder recovered and hit a big spinebuster on Bronson for a two count, the closest anyone has ever come to pinning the monstrous Bronson. Thunder tried following up with a run into the corner, but Bronson moved and responded by splashing Thunder himself. That allowed Bronson to climb to the middle rope and drop on Thunder, putting another opponent away in the process.

Result: Bull Bronson d. Chocolate Thunder

No Limits Tournament: Jay Spade vs. Matt Cage

This match was taped at the Hands Across Harrisburg benefit show and was the final first-round match in the No Limits Tournament. Jay Spade's partner Joey O'Riley defeated Matt Cage's partner Christian Rose on the last episode of "Collision" to advance to the second round.

Spade starts the match by psyching out Cage and trying to get the audience behind him. They tie up in a lock-up with a clean break, neither man able to get the advantage. Cage ran off the ropes and knocked Spade to the mat, but Spade recovered quickly. The two men exchange arm drags, hurricaranas, kicks and several other moves, operating almost as mirror images of one another.

Spade offers a handshake, but Cage has other plans. Cage takes the fight back to Spade, but once again they were unable to find an advantage for either man. Spade headed up top and hits a crossbody off the top turnbuckle. Cage kicked out of Spade's pin at two and turned the tide to his advantage with a stiff kick to Spade's head.

The two men headed to the outside to fight, where Cage beat Spade on the guardrail. As they headed around the ring, Cage tried to throw Spade into the steps, but Spade jumped up and landed on the steps, attempting a leaping maneuver of his own. Cage, however, caught him and slammed him onto the edge of the ring apron.

Coming back from a commercial break, Cage had Spade locked in a submission move in the middle of the ring. Spade tried his hardest to fight back, and reversed a slam by Cage into a hurricarana. Spade found his second win, landing a superkick on Cage and deciding to go back to the top rope instead of for the pin. Spade hit a Swanton Bomb, but Cage kicked out at two.

As Spade climbed the ropes again, Cage sent him crashing into the ropes, regaining control of the contest. He hit a big suplex-like move and then went up top himself to hit a big elbow drop. When Spade climbed back to his feet, he uncharacteristically spit in Cage's face, which anger the tag team champion and lead him to hitting a series of moves on Spade to knock him out again.

Spade kicked out, frustrating Cage, who grabbed the tag title belt and set up to use it as a weapon. The referee asked Cage to put the belt down. He refused and charged at Spade with the belt. Spade ducked, and hit a schoolboy for a near fall. Spade then grabbed the tag title belt. Spade agreed with the referee and gave up the belt.

When Spade turned around, he walked into a punch from Cage, who had put brass knuckles on. Cage went for the pin, but the referee saw the brass knuckles and awarded the match to Spade by disqualification. Spade not only advances to the semi-finals of the No Limits tournament, but he also earned his first victory in "Collision" history. As O'Riley rushes out to check on his partner, Cage tells the camera he's still a tag team champion, and that's all that matters.

Result: Jay Spade d. Matt Cage by disqualification

Backstage, Gaylord Stevens and Ax Allwardt tell Heath Hatton he's made their issues personal. Allwardt tells Hatton that come June 30, he's going to find out what it means to stand in the ring with the "Willisville Nightmare Train." It appears these two are headed for a confrontation at "Summer Chaos!"

GT Vega vs. Zakk Sawyer

Vega was making his return to AAPW in this match, as well as his "Collision" debut.

The start off with a lock-up and a series of reversals. Vega won the scuffle with a fireman's carry and turned that into an armlock. He followed up with a series of chops on Sawyer, leaving welts on his opponent's chest.

Sawyer got Vega trapped in the corner, but Vega was able to recover from it and take control back over, hitting Sawyer with a series of arm drags. Vega put Sawyer into the corner in a tree of woe and nailed a big stalling dropkick. A big kick to the head took Sawyer to the outside of the ring, as the show headed to commercial break.

Coming back to the action, Sawyer had Vega in a headlock, but it wouldn't last long as Vega came out of it and off the ropes with a big clothesline. Vega sent Sawyer into the ropes and hit a modified T-bone suplex for a near fall. Sawyer made a bit of a recovery himself, hitting a big dropkick from the top turnbuckle.

Don't ever count Vega down, though, as he hit a spinebuster on Sawyer and followed it up with a series of big moves. With Sawyer down on the mat, Vega climbed to the top turnbuckle and nailed a big moonsault to score the victory.

Result: GT Vega d. Zakk Sawyer

AAPW Heavyweight Championship Match
Edmund "Livewire" McGuire vs. "The Rebel" Jeremy Wyatt

The main event saw this title match, as Jeremy Wyatt challenged for the AAPW Heavyweight Championship for the third time. Known as "The Belt Collector," he has claimed titles in every promotion he's wrestled for, except AAPW. Edmund "Livewire" McGuire has held the championship for more than a year, proving himself a fighting champ.

Wyatt's partner Mark Sterling gestured toward going after McGuire before the match even started, prompting referee Scott Z. Wolfe to force Sterling to the back. Wyatt will have no assistance in this match.

The two men start off with a tie-up and a clean break. Livewire applied a headlock on Wyatt, who worked his out of the hold and turned it into an armbar of his own. McGuire would reverse it, though. These two men are showcasing their technical skills and have obviously scouted their opponents.

The pace picked up as both men ran the ropes. Livewire reversed an armbar by Wyatt into one of his own. They went back to the mat for more submission attempts. Livewire used a headstand to reverse a Wyatt hold and eventually popped up into a dropkick.

Wyatt blocked a punch from McGuire and took the fight to the outside. Wyatt used the guardrail to his advantage, wearing down the champ. Knowing he can't win the title on the outside, Wyatt brought the match back into the ring. Wyatt maintained control, taking it to the champ in the corner.

McGuire found his opportunity and reversed Wyatt, hitting some chops in the corner. He went up top, but Wyatt pulled him down with a neckbreaker on the ropes for a pin attempt. Wyatt added insult to injury with the champ, taunting the fans.

Wyatt took McGuire to the mat and hit a running slide off the ropes. Wyatt, though, seemed to take a lot out of himself. as well. It would later be determined this was the moment that Wyatt broke his leg during the contest, taking him out of action for several months.

Wyatt's injury, unbeknownst to McGuire at the time, allowed the champ to capitalize and regain momentum, hitting an atomic drop and Russian leg sweep for a near fall. McGuire would attempt a move off the turnbuckle, only to be countered by Wyatt. He lost his balance, but was able to pull out a swinging DDT in the process.

As Livewire set up for his signature superkick, Mike Masters emerged from the back and jumped onto the apron. The champ knocked him down, and Masters' attention seemed to be drawn to a fan taunting him on the outside. Masters shoved a security guard to the ground and assaulted the fan.

The resulting scene was pure chaos, only seen by AAPW officials on tape. Executive Producer Chris Hagstrom and security forced Masters to the back, while other staff checked on the fan. In the ring, McGuire was distracted by the incident, allowing Wyatt to hit his finisher for a clear three count, though there was no referee to count the fall.

Result: Edmund "Livewire" McGuire vs. Jeremy Wyatt went to a no contest

The closing scene of the episode saw Masters escorted out of the venue, while Hagstrom threatened to call the police. In the aftermath of this incident. Mike Masters was fired from All American Pro Wrestling.
