This week's episode of "AAPW Collision" began with a somber note, as announcers Chris Hagstrom and Kevin Hunsperger opened the show with some shocking footage from after the previous show.
As AAPW Champion Edmund "Livewire" McGuire prepared to tape some television spots, he was viciously assaulted by Ax Allwardt, who he had recently defended his title against.
Alwardt refused to relent his attack, being cheered on by his manager Gaylord Stevens. In the end, McGuire was left laying helpless on the ground while Alwardt walked away from the scene.
After that footage aired, viewers were treated to their first look at the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson Warehouse, the now-official home of "Collision."
Brandon Espinosa vs. Pokerface
The undefeated Pokerface found himself facing one of his biggest challenges to date as he squared off against the well-traveled Espinosa.
The two men started the match exchanging holds, a specialty of Espinosa. Pokerface found himself unable to gain an early advantage of his technician opponent.
In the end, it was Espinosa who gained a slight advantage, attempting an early pinfall. That proved both unsuccessful and unwise, as Pokerface capitalized on Espinosa's mistake and took control of the bout.
Espinosa would make a comeback, using his agility to take down Pokerface, but ultimately Pokerface regained his momentum, using his brute force to keep Espinosa off his feet.
The pattern would repeat itself and Espinosa came oh-so-close to ending Pokerface's undefeated streak. But all Espinosa got for his valiant effort was a solid kick to the face from Pokerface, who was able to capitalize and pin his opponent one, two, three.
Result: Pokerface d. Brandon Espinosa
Greg Anthony vs. Aiden Young
Aiden Young made his AAPW debut against the "Golden Boy" in the show's second contest. Anthony, accompanied to the ring by "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich, may have given his opponent too little credit.
Young isn't a newcomer to the sport. He actually trained with the Olympic wrestling team in 2008, bringing a solid amateur background to his professional wrestling career.
Anthony tried to avoid Young early on, but he couldn't run forever. Young used his amateur prowess to take his opponent to the mat. Anthony rolled to the outside, where he grabbed a microphone and admitted that he underestimated Young.
Re-entering the ring, he offered Young a handshake, and Young fell for Anthony's trick. Rather than shaking Young's hand, Anthony slapped him across his face and took control of the match.
Young would eventually gain a second wind, mounting a comeback, albeit a slight one. He landed a few high-impact moves, but Anthony prevailed in the end, regaining control soon after he lost it.
Even though he was managing well with his wrestling skills, Anthony couldn't resist the opportunity to bend the rules. With the referee distracted, Rich passed off a pair of brass knuckles, which Anthony used to knock Young out cold.
After the match, Rich and Anthony still didn't let up, quite literally kicking Young while he was down.

All American Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship Match
Curly and Heath Hatton vs. Derrick King and Cody Melton
Much like Young, King and Melton made their AAPW debuts. The duo were fortunate enough to immediately leap to the top, challenging Curly and Hatton for their AAPW Tag Team Championships.
Some may question why newcomers were given such an opportunity, but the reigning champions have developed a reputation of not turning away any challengers.
Curly and Melton start the match, and Melton learned early on that there's strength behind the shenanigans. Before long, the match took a turn from strange to even stranger, as a fan gave Curly a prosthetic leg, which the champ used to chase both members of Memphis Heat around the ring.
Melton had seen enough of Curly, as both men tagged in their partners, putting King and Hatton in the match for the first time. The champs continued to prevail, as Hatton took King to the outside.
After a little refocusing, King came back into the ring, but things hadn't changed. Hatton continued to dominate, taking out both members of Memphis Heat when Melton tried to get involved.
King and Melton finally got their minds on the same page and took control of the match, utilizing conniving tactics to maintain their momentum. Brooklyn Bobby emerged from the back, apparently scouting, and showed his support for Memphis Heat.
Melton and King kept Hatton isolated, and the referee missed multiple tags from Hatton to Curly, allowing Memphis Heat to continue their assault of the younger half of the tag champions.
Curly finally made a tag witnessed by the referee, and he unleashed that built-up momentum on both Melton and King, taking both men out. Curly and Hatton unleashed some double-team maneuvers of their own, but nothing they did seemed enough to put Memphis Heat away.
Curly lifted King into an elevated bear hug while Hatton climbed to the top turnbuckle and landed a dropkick on King, sending his body to the mat and allowing Curly to pick up the win in another successful title defense.
Result: Curly and Heath Hatton d. Derrick King and Cody Melton to retain the AAPW Tag Team Championship
