"AAPW Collision" started off in a rather unusual manner, as Executive Producer Chris Hagstrom delivered a message regarding the scheduled appearance of reigning Ring of Honor World Champion Davey Richards.
Sinclair Broadcasting, the new owner of Ring of Honor, pulled Richards from his appearance for AAPW. Hagstrom had choice words for the officials of Sinclair Broadcasting, and a heartfelt apology to the fans of AAPW.
But not even the lack of an appearance by Richards could put a damper on the spirits of the AAPW faithful.
"3G" Eric Wayne made his way to the ring, expressing his dissatisfaction with Richards bailing on the show. Wayne had been scheduled to face Richards, and without the ROH champ in the house, the third-generation superstar wouldn't have a chance to prove himself.
The fans took it upon themselves to taunt Wayne relentlessly, and Wayne reciprocated by guaranteeing fans he'd be in the main event one way or another.
Curly vs. Mike Masters
These two men know each other well, as they faced off on the debut episode of "Collision." In that bout, Masters ended up on the losing side, but this time, he wasn't willing to meet the same fate.
But before he could turn his attention to his opponent, Masters took a few minutes to insult the fans, using the recent Halloween holiday as an outlet to insult both those in attendance and all the "tattooed freaks" out in the public.
Curly wasted no time in unleashing his antics on Masters, who bailed to the outside to try and collect himself and jaw-jack with the fans some more. With both men back in the ring, the referee called for the bell, and Masters took to some antics of his own. Before long, though, he would up on the receiving end of Curly's offense.
Curly uncharacteristically went to the top rope early, but Masters rolled out of the way of Curly's elbow, allowing him to gain control. As Masters worked over his opponent, Brooklyn Bobby once again emerged from the back, as he has in past weeks, seemingly nodding in approval of Masters' dominance.
Fighting on the outside, Masters delivered a strong bodyslam to Curly on the concrete floor before stopping the referee's count. He took to the fans, grabbing a pacifier from someone in the crowd, attempting to stick it in Curly's mouth.
The plan backfired, however, as Curly took control and stuck the baby toy inside Masters' mouth. The action returned to the ring, and Masters once again found himself in control of the bout.
Another momentum shift, and Curly found himself in charge. He returned to the top rope, attempting another elbow drop. This time, the AAPW Tag Team champion found better luck, as he nailed the move and pinned Masters for the three, extending Masters' losing streak for at least one more episode of "Collision."
Result: Curly d. Mike Masters
Shane Rich vs. Shawn Santel
"The Serial Thriller" has been establishing a name for himself alongside partner "Golden Boy" Greg Anthony, who accompanied him to ringside for this match against the newcomer Santel.
Early on in the match, Santel proved himself a force to be reckoned with, as we went toe-to-toe with Rich. Rich gained control and - through some devious actions from his partner - wore down his opponent.
Santel recovered with some vicious chops, but the almost two-on-one dynamic proved too much. Not only did Santel have to deal with Rich's technical prowess, he also had to constantly be keeping an eye on Anthony on the outside.
The AAPW newcomer continued to get in spurts of offense, including a set of triple suplexes, but when the match really started heading in his direction, the so-called Golden Duo pulled a signature shady maneuver, as Anthony hit Santel with the tag team's new signature brass knuckles.
This unfair use of a weapon allowed Rich to gain a win, sending Santel home from his first "Collision" bout a loser.
Result: Shane Rich d. Shawn Santel
Backstage interviewer Sam Smith caught up with AAPW Champion Edmund "Livewire" McGuire in the wake of Ax Allwardt's vicious backstage attack on the champion. McGuire said Allwardt considers himself a man's man, but his act was that of a coward.
Back in the ring, Wayne made his way out for the main event. With Richards not appearing, no one seemed certain of who exactly Wayne would be facing. Before long, though, the question was answered as Jay Spade's music hit the arena.
Spade, who hasn't been seen on "Collision" since taking a series of piledrivers from Allwardt, seemed determined to take it to the next level and answer Wayne's challenge.
Jay Spade vs. Eric Wayne
Wayne tried intimidating Spade early on, encouraging him to leave before the match even started. But once the bell rang, Spade quickly took the fight to his opponent, adding a little taunting of his own, much to the pleasure of the crowd.
Wayne had come into the show preparing to face the hard-striking Richards, so being across the ring from the quick and agile Spade proved a challenge for the third-generation star. Spade maintained an advantage for the early goings of the contest.
After a while, Wayne changed his strategy, attempting to slow down the pace of the match. His efforts proved rather unsuccessful, however, as he landed a few power maneuvers but ultimately still let Spade get the better of him.
As Spade went for a hurricarana, Wayne reversed it into a powerbomb, allowing him to gain his first real advantage of the match. Wayne capitalized on this newfound momentum, unleashing an unrelenting assault on Spade's upper body.
Wayne pulled Spade to the outside, where he began tossing his opponent's body into everything from the side of the ring to the guardrails. Spade began looking battered and bruised, but he was never down and out.
As Wayne missed a move and sent himself into the ring post, Spade ran off and climbed to the balcony of the arena, where he launched himself in a high crossbody dive onto Wayne and the concrete floor.
The fan support led Spade to a second wind, as he added a renewed vigor to his fight, securing several near falls. Wayne put the brakes on it before too long, though, and Wayne regained control. Spade tried to hit a big move off the top rope, but Wayne caught him mid-air, hitting a finishing power move of his own to put Spade away for good.
While the match had ended, Spade made sure to send the fans home happy, as he hit a high senton on Wayne, much to the pleasure of the fans. Spade remains winless on "Collision," but he's proved time and again no one can rival him in heart.
Result: Eric Wayne d. Jay Spade
