Results from AAPW Collision Episode 1

All American Pro Wrestling Collision debuted on WSIL TV-3 today with an action-packed first episode.
Ax Alwardt vs. Jay Spade
The show began with a cross-generational battle as "Old School Warrior" Ax Allwardt, with his manager Gaylord Stevens in tow, battled Jay Spade, a young high-flyer with a new-school mentality.
The much-larger Alwardt attempted to bully Spade early on with a slap to the face, but the young star would shake it off with a smile before getting in a few well-placed slaps of his own. Spade managed to parlay that into a burst of early momentum, as his speed allowed him to stay one step ahead of his opponent.
After successfully hitting a flying crossbody dive off the top rope, Spade tried his aerial luck again. This time, however, he came up short, as Alwardt moved out of his path, sending Spade crashing to the concrete floor on the outside.
Alwardt capitalized on the momentum shift with a series of power moves targeting Spade's neck and back. Alwardt had Spade down on numerous occasions but adding a personal touch of pizzaz to his pin attempts allowed Spade to stay in the contest.
As Spade caught a second wind, he headed back to the top rope once again. Another failed aerial assault allowed Alwardt the chance to hit a devastating piledriver on Spade to win the match.
But Alwardt wasn't done yet. At Stevens' behest, the "Old School Warrior" picked Spade up and delivered a second, post-match piledriver. A second referee hit the ring and medical teams were called to check on Spade's condition.

Backstage, AAPW's Sam Smith caught up with AAPW Heavyweight Champion Edmund "Livewire" MCGuire and "Dynamite" Seth Knight to get their thoughts on their main event tag team match against "Golden Boy" Greg Anthony and "Serial Thriller" Shane Rich.
While they acknowledged their teammates abilities, McGuire and Knight said they believe themselves to be even more on the same page than their opponents. They want to show to the world why they're known as "Mr. Electricity" and the "Execellence of Innovation," respectively.
Curly vs. Mike Masters
The show's second match saw two AAPW veterans collide in the ring. Mike Masters has been with the company since the beginning, and Curly has become a fan favorite for people of all ages. Much to the pleasure of the audience, Curly was accompanied to the ring by his young son, Curly Jr.
From the time he emerged from the entryway, Masters found himself the subject of jeers and ridicule from the fans, and that didn't sit well with him. From the early stages, he found himself drawn to jaw-jacking and responding to his critics in the crowd.
His opponent would draw the exact opposite reaction, as Curly and Curly Jr. hit the ring with their usual "Three Stooges"-inspired shenanigans, much to Masters' chagrin.
Once the action began, the two men proved to be evenly matched, and the multiple momentum shifts proved it. Each man had a bit of personality shine through, too, as Masters proved himself to be one of the dirtiest players in the locker room, and Curly showed that behind the fun and games are serious skill and training.
Late in the match, Curly was in control. He hit a few back body drops on Masters in the corner, but on his last attempt, the referee wound up getting between the competitors and feeling the impact of the move himself. Masters took advantage of the scenario and attempted a pinfall, albeit with his feet on the ropes.
The referee caught Masters red-handed and the match would continue. Unfortunately for Masters, he assumed he'd won already, and Curly scooped him up for an Oklahoma Slam and a three count.

Greg Anthony and Shane Rich vs. Edmund McGuire and Seth Knight
The first-ever "Collision" main event featured the best of the best the promotion has to offer in this tag team contest. McGuire and Rich were once friends but have become bitter enemies, while both represent cornerstones of the company's past. Anthony and Knight look to make a name for themselves in AAPW and establish themselves as contenders at all levels.
From the start of the match, the fans are behind McGuire, who begins in the ring with Anthony. The two battle back and forth, and McGuire tags in Knight, who immediately begins working over Anthony's arm. Knight hits a big move early on as he double clotheslined both Anthony and Rich over the top rope.
Knight tags in McGuire, bringing him and Rich together for the first time in the bout. Rich hasn't forgotten this past March when McGuire won the AAPW Heavyweight Championship from him. He attempts a series of both pinfalls and submissions but comes up short with each attempt.
McGuire tags Knight back into the match, which begins to see a momentum shift, as Anthony and Rich isolate Knight from his partner. Twice, Knight made successful tags, but the referee didn't see either one, leaving Knight on his own against the conniving duo of his opponents for a several-minute stretch.
After McGuire finally made the hot tag back in, Knight attempted to take Rich out of the equation with an over-the-top-rope splash on Rich, who evaded the move. McGuire, however, would get in a signature super kick, knocking Rich to the floor.
Knight recovered and returned to the ring, delivering his own signature move to Anthony, setting him up for a McGuire super kick. The champ pinned Anthony and claimed victory for his team is his first "Collision" match.
McGuire and Knight came out on top in the contest, but Anthony and Rich proved themselves a formidable duo and strong contenders for the AAPW Tag Team Championships.
